പാപ്പായുടെ അഭ്യർത്ഥന
ക്രൈസ്തവ ജനത എല്ലായ്പ്പോഴും ശക്തിയും ധൈര്യവും നേടുന്ന വളരെ വിശുദ്ധമായ ഈ പൈതൃകത്തോട് വിശ്വസ്തത പുലർത്തിക്കൊണ്ട്, എല്ലാ പുരുഷന്മാർക്കും സ്ത്രീകൾക്കും എല്ലാ ജനതകൾക്കും ഇടയിൽ സമാധാനവും അനുരഞ്ജനവും സംസ്ഥാപിതമാകാൻ വേണ്ടി കന്യാമറിയത്തിന്റെ മധ്യസ്ഥതയിലൂടെ ദൈവത്തോട് യാചിക്കാൻ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടും മറ്റ് വിശ്വാസികളോടും മാർപാപ്പ അഭ്യർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.

സമാധാന രാജ്ഞിയായ പരിശുദ്ധ അമ്മ
സമാധാനം സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിൽ സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ ദാനം അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്ന പ്രാർത്ഥന നികത്താനാവാത്ത ഒരു സംഭാവനയാണെന്നും, എല്ലാ കൃപയും ലഭിക്കുന്ന ക്രിസ്തുവിലൂടെയാണ് സമാധാനമെന്ന ദാനത്തെ സ്വീകരിക്കാൻ നമ്മൾ പ്രാപ്തരാകുന്നതെന്നും, ദൈവമുമ്പാകെ കൃപ കണ്ടെത്തിയവൾ എന്ന് സുവിശേഷം സാക്ഷ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന അവന്റെ അമ്മയായ മറിയത്തിന്റെ താരതമ്യപ്പെടുത്താനാവാത്ത മദ്ധ്യസ്ഥത നമ്മുടെ ഈ യാത്രയിൽ വലിയ പിന്തുണയാണെന്നും പറയുന്ന മാർപാപ്പ, “സമാധാനം സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ, അവർ ദൈവമക്കൾ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും” എന്ന് ലോകത്തിന്റെ മുൻപിൽ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചവനും സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ അടയാളമായി ജനിച്ചവനുമായ സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ രാജകുമാരന്റെ അമ്മ നസ്രത്തിലെ എളിയ കന്യകയാണ് എന്നും, കാനായിയിലെ വിവാഹത്തിന് ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഗ്രാമീണരുടെ ആനന്ദത്തിൽ ഇടപെടാൻ മടിക്കാത്ത പരിശുദ്ധ മറിയം, മനുഷ്യരുടെ ആവശ്യങ്ങളോട് വളരെ പെട്ടെന്നു പ്രതികരിക്കുന്നവളാണെന്ന് സുവിശേഷം നമ്മെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും, അതിനാൽ, ആത്മാർത്ഥമായ ഹൃദയത്തോടെ സമാധാനത്തിനായി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുകയും ഇടപെടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർ പരാജയപ്പെടുകയില്ല എന്നും വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നു.

Introduction
1. The return of the month of October offers us the opportunity to once again invite all the Christian people to practice a form of prayer rightly dear to Catholic piety, and which has lost nothing of its relevance in the difficulties of the present hour: we intend to speak of the Rosary of the Most Holy Virgin Mary.
2. The intention that we want to propose this year to all Our children, since it seems more urgent and more serious than ever, is that of peace between men and between peoples. Despite some progress and legitimate hopes, deadly conflicts still continue, new “hot spots” appear, and even Christians who appeal to the same Gospel of love are seen in struggle among themselves. Within the Church itself, misunderstandings arise between brothers who mutually accuse and condemn each other. So it is more urgent than ever to work and pray for peace.
3. An anniversary also invites us to do this with greater confidence, the fourth centenary of the Bull Consueverunt Romani Pontifices (Bull. Ord. Praed., T. V, p. 223, 17 September 1569), with which St. Pius V it defined the form of the Rosary still in use today, in an era of turmoil for the Church and the world. Faithful to this very holy heritage, from which the Christian people have never ceased to draw strength and courage, We urge the clergy and the faithful to insistently ask God through the intercession of the Virgin Mary for peace and reconciliation among all men and women. among all peoples.
WHY PRAY MARY FOR PEACE
1. Peace is certainly the work of men . The common good of all, it must be the constant concern of all, especially of those who bear the responsibility of the States and the community of peoples. But who does not have his share of responsibility in what concerns the life and peace of a family, a company, an association? Despite numerous good wills, there are so many conflicting interests, so many manifestations of selfishness, so many bitter antagonisms, so many opposing rivalries. Who does not see the need for incessant action on the part of each and everyone, so that love triumphs over discords and peace is established in the city of man?
2. But peace is also God’s work . It is He who has instilled in our hearts the ardent desire for peace. It is He who urges us to cooperate in you, each according to our part, and who for this purpose supports our weak energies and our wavering wills. It is He alone who can give us a peaceful soul and consolidate our peace efforts in depth and stability.
3. The prayer with which we ask for the gift of peace is therefore an irreplaceable contribution to the establishment of peace. It is through Christ, in whom all grace is granted to us (Cf. Rom . 8, 32), that we can prepare ourselves to welcome the gift of peace. And how can we not wish to seek support along our journey in the incomparable intercession of Mary his mother, of whom the Gospel reveals to us that “she found grace before God”? ( Lk . 1, 30).
4. It is the humble Virgin of Nazareth who became the mother of the “Prince of peace” ( Is . 9, 5), of Him who was born under the sign of peace (Cf. Lk . 2, 14), and who has proclaimed in the face of the world: “Blessed are the peaceable, for they will be called children of God” ( Mt 5, 9).
Now the Gospel teaches us that Mary is sensitive to the needs of men. At Cana, she does not hesitate to intervene to the delight of villagers invited to a wedding ( Io . 2, 15). How could he fail to intervene for peace, for this so precious good, if we know how to invoke it with a sincere heart?
The Second Vatican Council appropriately reminded us of this: Mary continues to intercede with her Son on behalf of her children of the earth (Dogmatic Constitution Lumen Gentium , n. 62). To the one who addressed these simple words to him: “they have no more wine,” Christ replied generously. How could he not answer with the same breadth another question: “they have no peace”?
OUR PRAYER FOR PEACE
1. If each “to the extent of his strength and possibilities” (Encyclical Populorum progressio , n. 75) has the duty to work for justice and peace in the world, every Christian will have at heart to ask Mary to pray with us and for us, so that we may be granted this peace that the Lord alone can give us (Prayer of the Mass for peace). Indeed, meditating on the mysteries of the Holy Rosary, we will learn, following the example of Mary, to become souls of peace, through loving and incessant contact with Jesus and with the mysteries of his redemptive life.

2. Let all the children of the Holy Church pray.
– Children and young people , whose future is at stake, in the transformation that upsets the world. May parents and educators, and all priests, have at heart to make them souls of prayer.
– The sick and the elderly , who sometimes allow themselves to be discouraged in their apparent uselessness. May they rediscover the powerful force of prayer, and they will become loving beings, who peacefully attract to the source of peace.
– Adults , who struggle throughout the day. Their efforts will bear greater fruit if they emanate from a life of prayer (Cf. Lumen Gentium , n. 21). By becoming assiduous followers of Mary, they will know and love Jesus better. Many of our fathers in the faith have had this life-giving experience.
– Consecrated souls , whose life, following the example of Mary, should always be most closely linked to that of Christ, as an irradiation of his message of love and peace.
The bishops and priests , their collaborators. They have the particular mission of “praying in the name of the Church for all the people entrusted to them, indeed for the whole world” (Cf. Decree Presbyterorum ordinis on the ministry and priestly life, n. 5). How should they not reach, in the intimate secret of their prayer, Mary’s supplication?
– In this ardent desire for peace, which is “fruit of the Spirit” ( Gal . 5, 22), all of us, like the apostles in the Upper Room, will be united “in prayer with Mary, Mother of Jesus” ( Act . 1, 14 ).
FOR EVERYONE
3. We will pray for all those who work for peace in the world, from the humblest village to the largest international organizations. In addition to our encouragement and gratitude, they also have the right to our prayer. “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger of good news, who announces peace, who brings happiness, who announces salvation” ( Is . 52, 7).
– We will pray that the vocations of peacemakers, workers of harmony and reconciliation among men and peoples will be destined everywhere. We will pray that from all hearts, starting with ours, sectarianisms and racisms, hatred and wickedness, which are the ever-reborn source of wars and divisions, will be eradicated. Because if evil is powerful, grace is more powerful.
– We will pray to Him who died for our sins, to “gather in unity the scattered children of God” ( Io . 11:52). We will pray that a climate of mutual respect and trust, dialogue and mutual benevolence will be established among all the children of the Church. We will pray that, recognizing each other as different, all see themselves complementary to each other, in the truth and charity of Christ, according to the exhortation of the great apostle Paul: «As far as it depends on you, live in peace with all men. . . Do not, therefore, judge one another more. . . The kingdom of God is. . . justice, peace, joy in the Holy Spirit. Let us therefore aim at what promotes peace and mutual edification “( Romans 12, 18 and 14, 13, 17, 19).
BLESSING
1. We ourselves, venerable brothers and beloved children, will not cease to work and pray for peace, because we are the Vicar of “He who is our peace, in his person has killed hatred, and has come to proclaim the peace “( Eph . 2, 14-15). With the apostle Paul , under whose name we wanted to hide Our littleness, We “exhort you to lead a life worthy of the vocation you have received: with all humility and meekness, with long-suffering, charitably enduring one another, studying to preserve the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace “( Ibid . 4, 1-3).
2. May frequent meditation on the mysteries of our salvation make you peacemakers , conforming to the image of Christ, to the example of Mary. That the Rosary, in its form established by Saint Pius V – as in the more recent ones, which, with the consent of legitimate authority, adapt it to today’s needs – is truly, according to the desire of our beloved predecessor John XXIII, “a great prayer public and universal, in the face of the ordinary and extraordinary needs of the holy Church, of nations and of the whole world “(Epist. Apost.” The religious convegno “of September 29, 1961, AAS , 53, 1961, p. 646), this Rosary , which is “like a synthesis of the Gospel” (Cardinal J. SALIÈGE, Voilà ta Mère, pages mariales recueillies et présentées par Mgr Garrone, Toulouse, Apostolat de la prière, 1958, p. 40), is “now a devotion of the Church (Paul VI, address of 13 July 1963 to the participants in the III Dominican International Rosary Congress, Insegnamenti di Paolo VI , I, 1963, p. 464).
3. By means of this prayer to Mary, the Most Holy Mother of God and our mother, We will contribute to the fulfillment of the vow of the Council: that “all the faithful pour out insistent prayers to the Mother of God and of men, because she, who with his prayers helped the firstfruits of the Church, even now, exalted in heaven above all the Blessed and the Angels, in the Communion of all the Saints, intercede with his Son, until all the families of peoples, both those already awarded the Christian name, both those who still ignore their Savior, in peace and harmony are happily reunited in one People of God, for the glory of the Most Holy and indivisible Trinity “( Lumen Gentium , n. 69).
